FALLON, NV MAY 26, 2010: Jeff Ward, Octane Fest’s Grand Marshall, will have a full week in Fallon racing a SuperLite truck in Saturday’s main event and being the keynote speaker at the Celebrity Benefit Dinner.
Thursday evening June 10th Octane Fest hosts a Celebrity Dinner to benefit the Churchill County High School Auto Shop at the Fallon Convention Center. Grand Marshall Jeff Ward will speak about his broad experiences in the motorsports world crossing from motorcycles to Indy cars to short course trucks. Also speaking at the event will be racers from the Rock Racing and Drag Racing worlds. The Churchill County High School Auto Shop Fund was created to help young students follow their career dreams in the aftermarket automotive and motorsport industry.
Octane Fest’s Saturday night featured event is the SuperLite Invitational presented by Speed Technologies. Huge names from the motocross and off road world joining Jeff Ward on the track include John Harrah, Ricky Johnson, Johnny Greaves, Jeremy McGrath, Carl Renezeder, Brian Deegan, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg and Roger Norman who will buckle in and launch through the air on the custom built track.
Jeff Ward is the winner of seven AMA Motocross and Supercross National Championships and was the first rider to win every major American AMA Motocross and Supercross title. He has one of the longest careers of elite motocross riders, covering 15 seasons in the pro ranks. In the late 1990’s he switched to auto racing and choose the Indianapolis 500 to debut where he placed third and earned the Rookie of the Year award. A few years later, he returned to motorcycle racing winning multiple AMA Supermoto and X Games Championships, and is now competing in short course racing with the Speed Technologies Unlimited 2 truck in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. “We are proud to have Jeff Ward as the Grand Marshall of the event,” said Ty Erquiaga. “His legendary accomplishments across all aspects of motorsports showcases what this event is all about, the combining of all worlds in one arena.”
Octane Fest is a three day event including a Speed Technologies SuperLite Truck Invitational, Rock Crawling, TUFF-CUP Pro Arena Rock Racing, Tuff-Truck, NMXD Motocross, Tuff-Cross (Arena Enduro Racing), Quad Wars, Motorhome Demolition Derby, Monster Ride trucks, Mud Drags, and the 2nd Annual Mad Metal Truck Show & Shine all happening at the Fallon Fairgrounds. In addition, the NHRA Lucas Oil Division 7 Series will be at the Top Gun Raceway, Hurricams Car Show will take over Oats Park and IMCA Dirt Track Racing will be at Rattlesnake Raceway rounding out a full weekend of racing.
Competitors are encouraged to sign up for the different sanctioned events. Additional information and Entry Forms can be found on the website. CalRocs will be hosting the Rock Crawling, NMXD will be hosting Quad Wars, Tuff Cross and Motocross events, and Speed Technologies will feature the SuperLite Invitational on Saturday night. Additional events will be hosted by Octane Fest presented by the Northern Nevada Toyota Dealers.
Octane Fest is the largest multi-discipline motor sport event in Northern Nevada. Tickets for the event are $20 for the weekend Jamboree Pass (fairgrounds only). Day passes for the fairgrounds are also available for $10/day.
