Extreme Wheelers 4 Christ in Yucca Valley, the same club that feeds volunteers, racers, and crew members at King of the Hammers, is teaming up with Raceline Wheels® to prepare 1500 tacos in the desert for hungry off-roaders.  Dinner begins at 6pm on Friday at the exact opposite end from the main stage.   Be there promptly with your invitation in hand, because these famous tacos are certain to go quickly!  Additional attractions include a live band Lost Coyotes and representatives from Falken Tire, Blue Ribbon Coalition, Jeep, Dynatrac, Savvy Off Road, and more.  “This is going to be a lot of fun, not just for Raceline customers but for all of us,” commented Raceline Wheels® race director Greg Mulkey.

In addition to guided trail rides on the trails that Ocotillo Wells is famous for, this year the TDS Desert Safari will also feature a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday for the newly constructed Truckhaven 4×4 Training Facility.  Constructed by a joint partnership between Ocotillo Wells SVRA, OHV Division Trails Team, and Tierra Del Sol club, the new training facility features 17 manmade obstacles.  To build the facility, Tierra Del Sol engaged the help of the creative minds at W.E. Rock, whose expertise in building competitive and challenging obstacle courses is world renowned.  On Sunday of this year’s Desert Safari, vendors will be demonstrating proper winching techniques on several of the obstacles.

Base camp for the Desert Safari and TDS headquarters will be located 23 miles east from Christmas Circle in Borrego Springs on S-22 or 3.0 miles west of state highway 86.  The exact GPS coordinates are N 33 15.691 W 116 00.857.  Registration cost is $60 and included with each registration are a dash plaque, bumper sticker, and one ticket for the famous TDS “raffle” with over $100K in prize packages.  For more information on the 49th Annual Desert Safari, and to register online please visit
